Private Tutorials at Energyart Gallery

Want to work on your painting and drawing skills......
Book a private lesson with Brisbane Artist Kylie Farrelly at her Studio Gallery in Teneriffe, Brisbane.

Kylie runs private lessons for artists of all levels and ages.....just email or call to book a time. Classes can be modified to suit your specific project.

Recently Kylie has been working with two students, a teenage Art Student from Brisbane and his Grandmother. They come to the gallery most Saturdays for an hour or two to work on paintings of their choice. Kylie helped guide Nick through his Art Folio preparations ready for his interview to get into a Brisbane Creative Industries College. After many hours of hard work, Nick was accepted with a fantastic folio of work. He was really well prepared and impressed his art course interviewers.

Meanwhile his grandmother has enjoyed the quality time they spend together while she paints beautiful mediteranean scenes and quaint cottage gardens.

If you would like to refine your skills or need help with a painting project and want one on one tuition, call or email Kylie today.

Michael Larsen Exhibition

A New exhibition opens on Saturday April 10th at Energyart Gallery.

Local artist Michael Larsen's first exhibition cocnsists of a collection of Large scale Abstract and Resin Glass Paintings.

Many of the pieces are stunning as they stand alone on a wall, yet once viewed through 3D glasses, (which Michael will supply to viewers) come to life like magical creatures and take
on another aspect entirely. The colours leap from the canvas and take thier rightful places in layers, a depth of field not experience outside the 3D movies in modern theatres.

Alongside Michael are two other wonderful local artists (Joyce Thomas & Lainie Jubb) exhibiting a range of paintings styles. This team of three have put together a wonderful exhibition not to be missed.

Exhibition Opening a Success

An Arty Afternoon.....

Last Saturday Feb 13th was not only my dad's 60th birthday, but a great day at the studio gallery. After a morning tutoring a talented young artist, a few splashes of paint here and there on my own work, then an afternoon tea exhibition opening with 7 lovely ladies, friends , their families, collectors and visitors to the gallery.
There are some beautiful works on display at amazing prices. These ladies worked the room well, chatting to art lovers and enjoyed the scrumptious food they all lovingly prepared for the day.
I wish them a successful exhibition and bright futures in their art ventures.
Exhibition continues until April 10th.

Latest Painting...hot off the Easel

My latest painting was a wonderful whimsical painting commissioned by a beauftiful young family.

It is 1.5m x 1m acrylic image on canvas.

The image is of the 3 members of the family, Dad and two children and includes images of the three dogs that they have had(and currently have) as family pets.

It was a wonderful experience, working with the Dad to ensure we captured the essence of the family, thier faces, clothes and positions imitating thier personalities. We met at least 5 times throughout the process and made little personal changes as the painting came to life. Even the children had an opportunity to view the work during creation and offer suggestions to help make it a little more personal and meaningful for them.

The colours reflect the Australian landscape, with a simple city image to depict our city of Brisbane.

Some of the symbols in the painting are the pets, frangpani tree, Old Queenslander homes (thiers included), vibrant Australian outback colours, Story bridge and fun family times in the park, enjoying the Qld weather.

I loved creating thie image and can't wait to do more images like this one!
