Latest Painting...hot off the Easel

My latest painting was a wonderful whimsical painting commissioned by a beauftiful young family.

It is 1.5m x 1m acrylic image on canvas.

The image is of the 3 members of the family, Dad and two children and includes images of the three dogs that they have had(and currently have) as family pets.

It was a wonderful experience, working with the Dad to ensure we captured the essence of the family, thier faces, clothes and positions imitating thier personalities. We met at least 5 times throughout the process and made little personal changes as the painting came to life. Even the children had an opportunity to view the work during creation and offer suggestions to help make it a little more personal and meaningful for them.

The colours reflect the Australian landscape, with a simple city image to depict our city of Brisbane.

Some of the symbols in the painting are the pets, frangpani tree, Old Queenslander homes (thiers included), vibrant Australian outback colours, Story bridge and fun family times in the park, enjoying the Qld weather.

I loved creating thie image and can't wait to do more images like this one!
